The discovision laser discs were transferred with very little data compression. Therefore, there are usually more discs associated with a laser version in the discovision format. The concept was to provide the best picture and sound quality available at the time – and, it worked. Over the years many of these types of laser programs developed laser rot (actually, some separation of the very thin plastic coatings from the actual glass impregnated chips). We try to check several minutes of these discovision programs before we list them to ensure they play okay if rot exists it is usually evident right away with a bunch of rainbow speckles. WE WILL NOT LIST ONE THAT HAS LASER ROT! This is a three (3) laser disc set with all of the discs in excellent condition ( a few cleanable smudges). The outer sleeve has some shelf wear including corner bumps and edge/surface rubbing. Great chemistry between Redford and Fonda - this is funny, dramatic and at times suspenseful!! As with all of these limited released discovision high quality films, this one is hard to find - especially in the 3 disc version - very little data compression!! Cast::::Robert Redford, Jane Fonda, Valerie Perrine, Willie Nelson Movie Description::::Sydney Pollack directs this wonderful star-driven romp. Robert Redford plays Norman "Sonny" Steele, a former rodeo star who winds up working in a demeaning job in Las Vegas for a massive corporation, AMPCO. Sonny learns that his employer has purchased a $12 million racehorse as part of a merger. To protect the horse from being drugged with tranquilizers and generally mistreated, he steals it, freeing both himself and the horse. This sparks the curiosity of savvy broadcast journalist Alice "Hallie" Martin (Jane Fonda), who follows after him. Soon Fonda catches up to Redford and discovers the personal and political logic behind his choice to return the horse to its native grazing land far from the clutches of corporate greed. Aware that Sonny’s wishes for the horse are the same ones he has for himself, she falls for him.
